KU NOTES

1. KU is ranked #13 in the first BCS standings of the year. Oklahoma is the only Big 12 school ranked ahead of them.

2. Basketball Season began Friday night with Midnight Madness. Ku is the favorite to win the Big 12 this year and are ranked #4 in preseason polls.

3. NFL Hall of Famer John Riggins was inducted into KU's ring of honor this weekend at the Baylor game. It was the first time he has been on campus in nearly 30 years.

KU BASKETBALL NOTES

• Brandon Rush said Tuesday that he's starting to do some cutting and coming off screens during individual workouts. The Kansas guard is still recovering from ACL surgery last June. He said he doesn't have a timetable yet for his return. KU coach Bill Self had projected Dec. 1 as the return date, but Rush said they haven't given him one as of yet.

As for the rest of the squad, both Rush and senior guard Russell Robinson said that Darrell Arthur is just "dunking on people," and Rush added that Arthur "has that mentality that no one can stop him."

Robinson said he's using this pre-preseason time to work on his leadership skills since he knows he'll have to be more assertive while Rush is rehabbing. One sleeper player that doesn't get a lot of talk on KU's roster is Roderick Stewart. What it's worth, the fifth-year senior has been a pleasant surprise to Robinson. Stewart still may have trouble getting on the court with Robinson, Mario Chalmers and Sherron Collins and Rush (when he returns) ahead of him. But if Stewart is playing well early, he might get a longer look.

2. Kick off of College Football. This will be the first season of football with my new TV
3. KU won, K State lost. Only thing missing from this is an MU loss.
4. Won new Leather Jacket at the Harley Dealership ($300).
5. Cleaned Motorcycle.
6. Saw Kynzie & Max at my parents house.
7. Went out to dinner with Kerry - Yardhouse at Legends has great food and great music.
8. Discovery of Chocolate dipped Twinkies. This could be dangerous.
9. Lawn did not need to be mowed
10. Found the Blues Brothers Soundtrack.

Kansas State Basketball

K state released their college basketball schedule yesterday and their fans have all ready starting talking about a sweep of KU. 
I couldn't remember the last time we lost in Manhattan so I had to jump on the internet to do a little research and found an actual clip from the game.
