Sure lets give the GOV our Health Care

Some in Fairfax Public Housing Make Six Figures By Amy Gardner Washington Post Staff Writer
Sunday, September 30, 2007Hundreds of families living in housing subsidized by Fairfax County taxpayers exceed income caps designed to ensure that only the neediest receive assistance, a review of county records shows. In the most extreme cases, Fairfax is underwriting rents for families making well into six figures: One household getting help makes more than $216,000 a year; another, $184,000. Dozens of others -- making $60,000, $70,000, $90,000 -- exceed eligibility caps. And they do so with the tacit approval of county housing administrators, who do little to encourage occupants to move on when their fortunes improve.

BASS PRO CAR

NASCAR IS HERE!!!

This will be the first time in the last couple of years that I have not gone to the races so I am going through a bit of withdraw. To ease the pain I went around to the different promo events that they put on and took some pictures and even went out to the track. The Best Buy car pictures are courtesy of my GREAT Sister and Brother in Law .

LUNCH THIS WEEK

This was not a strong effort on the part of my clients for lunches this week. With the exception of the Cajun place the others were below average.

Tuesday - Harley Davidson BBQ in Topeka
Wednesday - Red Robin - Topeka
Thursday - Boudros , New Cajan place off of 107th and Mission. Pretty good

ILLEGALS SEEK Quasimodo defense

Some KC area church leaders pledge to offer sanctuary to illegal immigrants By LYNN FRANEYThe Kansas City Star Standing under their Interstate 70 billboard declaring, “Love the immigrant as yourself,” several Kansas City area church leaders pledged Tuesday to offer sanctuary to illegal immigrants threatened with deportation.None of the Kansas City churches has yet sheltered an illegal immigrant. But other churches in the New Sanctuary Movement nationwide have let illegal immigrants live on their properties, hoping that immigration agents won’t raid churches to make arrests.“It is the very soul of our nation that is at stake” in how we treat families in which one or both parents are illegal immigrants but the children are American citizens, said the Rev. Rick Behrens of Grandview Park Presbyterian Church. “We are losing our soul as we separate children from parents.”

Churches across the city will now be featuring new roofs and daily landscaping.

MORE ILLEGAL ALLIEN ANTICS

By Av Harris Wed Sep 26, 8:47 PM ET DANBURY, Connecticut (Reuters) - Ten Hispanic immigrants filed a lawsuit on Wednesday against a Connecticut city, its mayor and police chief, and federal agents who led a crackdown on illegal immigration last year. The suit filed in U.S. District Court in New Haven, Connecticut, claims the arrests violated the civil rights of nine workers and a 10th man who was stopped at a traffic light, including their right to due legal process, free speech and freedom from unreasonable searches and seizures, according to court documents. It is the latest legal challenge to crackdowns on illegal immigrants, as localities nationwide grapple with how to handle their status

This is funny to me. They want to use our laws to sue us but don't want to recognize the laws prohibiting them from being here.

DADDY THE HERO

Those are the words from Rebecca today as I came home with Speedy. Speedy is the creature that I arrived home with this afternoon that scared my wife (she didn't know what was in the bag). The tale of Speedy is a sad one, a tale that would of meant certain doom if it weren't for me. You see Speedy was attempting to cross a road and not having much luck in doing so. Speedy isn't equipped to dodge speeding SUV's and Semis and his one defensive mechanism isn't suitable for the highway. I stumbled upon him on my way back from Topeka today on Highway 24 and rescued him from his near death.

Speedy is a Turtle and he will be staying with us until Friday when we take him to Shawnee Mission Park.

Interesting Speedy Tidbits
1. He is mean
2. He is actually pretty fast
3. He managed to climb out of the paper bag I had him in before I got home and was about to climb out of my trunk.
4. Bridget jumped up on the back of the sofa when I let him loose on the living room floor.

TONY G

Tonight is dance night for the girls and Kerry usually brings home Fast Food. I hate Fast Food so I ran up to Whole Foods to make a salad. While up there I ran into Tony Gonzalez and his wife. I spent prob 10 minutes talking to him as we waited for the Salad Bar to be restocked. He was a real nice guy. The subject of the ball being thrown to him was brought up and he was hopeful that it continued.
