KU NEWS & NOTES FROM AROUND THE COUNTRY

The border war is finally getting the national coverage that it has deserved. For decades this game has been underrated by the press, until now. Here are some articles out on the net today concerning this game and your team. Enjoy.

If I missed anything let me and others know, post a comment with a link.

K State crybabies

It amazes me how many K State football fans (something that didn't exist 12 years ago) are jumping on the MU Football program bandwagon. This is almost as big of a game for them as it is for KU or MU. I have several friends that played football back in the mid 90's for Snyder and they are embarrassed by the way that their fans are acting. They feel that the more that K State fans jump on the MU bandwagon the better it makes KU's success, they are right.

K State fans are new to cheering for athletics so they have no real loyalty. Most K State fans didn't even know they had a football team until the early 90's. Then on the day they were to honor the man that turned around (for a few years) their football program, they couldn't even fill up the stadium. This is why K State can never be a real rival, they don't get it. When would you ever catch a KU fan cheering for an MU or K State victory? When would you catch a KU fan acting as if K State or MU was their team? You wouldn't.
K State fans need to sit this one out and develop your own historic rivalries instead of jumping on ours. You are just embarrassing yourselves.

KU FOOTBALL UPDATE

AMERICAS TEAM IS RANKED #3 IN THE BCS AFTER POUNDING OKLAHOMA STATE ON SATURDAY.

I AM HEARING THAT ESPN COLLEGE GAME DAY WILL BE AT ARROWHEAD FOR THE KU VS MU GAME AND THAT THE GAME WILL BE ABC'S GAME OF THE WEEK. THIS MEANS IT WILL BE IN HD!

NOSTRADAMUS

After 100 years of failed sports predictions Jack Harry finally got one right. Going into the college football season he picked the Jayhawks to win at least 10 games and everyone including me thought it was another one of his digs. Well Jack you finally got one right.

THANK YOU BILL CALLAHAN

HOW FAR HAS KANSAS STATE FALLEN OFF? THE NEBRASKA VS KITTIES GAME WAS ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS. RON PRINCE HAS THIS TEAM GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

BILL CALLAHAN DESERVES BETTER

Which is why Tom Osborne needs to stop being such a chicken S*it and fire the poor guy. Osborne has all ready slipped up by saying "the new coaching staff" in a recent interview, so why keep him? Instead Bill Callahan has to face disrespectful reporters on a weekly basis berating him and asking him if he thought he would be back. If you have listened to any of the press conferences or heard any of the callers into his coach's show you too would feel bad for this guy.

So why is it that a coach whom I thought was a class individual doing this to Callahan? Simple, he is still holding a grudge for the firing of Frank Solich. Osborne needs to grow up and do the right thing.

NEBRASKA FOOTBALL IS SO BAD

That the biggest homer announcer in the Big 12(Jim Rose) is stepping down. Apparently even Jim couldn't watch this team attempt to play football this year. It is funny how the coach is still there but everyone around him is dropping.

There are also reports circulating that Corn had decided not to grow in the state of Nebraska unless Callahan is fired

KU NOTES

1. They scored more points on Nebraska than anyone else on history. They could of easily put 100 on the "black shirts" but Mangino pulled the starters at the end. I all ready have my call list made up and plan on having some fun with my Cornhusker friends and clients.
2. KU is ranked #4 in both mens hoops and football.
3. Even if KU loses its next two they still have a chance to win the Big 12 north with a victory against MU at Arrowhead at the end of the season.
4. If you are a casual fan looking for a ticket to the KU vs MU game you are out of luck. The cheapest ticket I have been able to find is $250.

I DIDN'T THINK I WOULD LIVE TO SEE THE DAY

#9 THAT IS KU'S RANK IN THE BCS. SIMPLY AMAZING

KU STILL UNDEFEATED

KU continued their march towards the BIG 12 title yesterday in an easy victory over Colorado. This game was never in doubt and in the 2nd half the KU offense toyed with the Colorado Defense.

Oh yeah K STATE LOST ANOTHER ONE! "The Golden Boy" Josh Freeman continues to live in the shadow of Todd Reesing. If you listened to the hype by their local cheerleader Kevin Kietzman you would of thought going into the year that K State was a sure contender for the Big 12 North. at 4-3 they now have to fight just to get a bowl invite.

Nebraska (also suppose to win the north) got it handed to them by one of the worst teams in the conference. Nothing brings more joy that hearing the all might Husker fans complain about scores being run up against them. Nebraska can't even use the "we are a basketball school" excuse. It is going to be a cold winter up north.
