WHAT I LIKE ABOUT CHRISTMAS
In no order
1. Putting up the Christmas tree - This year due to weather we bought a fake tree and it wasn't the same. Nothing beats driving to the Christmas tree farm and cutting down your own.
2. Egg Nog - I love it, the wife hates it (how is that possible).
3. Shopping - I dig Christmas shopping more than anything. The busier the better. From the search of the perfect parking spot to the hunt for the best deal, it doesn't get any better.
4. My kids - There is nothing better than seeing the looks on the faces of my children when they wake up Christmas morning and see mountains of presents waiting to be opened.
5. Family - It use to be that the only time that we would all see each other was Thanksgiving and Christmas so it was great to catch up with everyone. I have gone out of my way to put together enough family BBQ's (usually once a month) so that we don't have to wait as long.
6. Christmas Movies & Cartoons.
7. Christmas Music - I don't need 300 days of it but for 2 weeks that is all I listen to.
8. Christmas Lights
9. Santa Clause - You gotta love the big guy.
10. Giving gifts - We tend to go overboard no matter what we can afford. To me it is important to give at Christmas.
11. Helping others - We typically adopt a family at Christmas and ensure that they can provide a good Christmas for their kids. This year we kept it in house and gave to family members that needed it more.
12. My wife - God bless her soul for all that she does this time of year in order for us all to have a great Christmas. From the shopping, Christmas cards, making of stockings etc... I couldn't do it without her. Love ya honey!
13, Time off from work - This year I have 12 days off (Bridget had 14 and reminds me that she has more than me everyday) and I plan on filling it full of family events.
14. Food - This is the best time of year for food (non BBQ). Candy, Turkey, Pies, Cookies etc...
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

10 REASONS TO BE THANKFUL IN THE METRO
As usual no particular order.
1. That KU had the foresight to move this Saturdays game to Arrowhead Stadium. Ty Pennington couldn't create the makeover that Missouri will undergo by having 40,000 Kansans cross the State Line. You are welcome Missouri.
2. The Sprint Center & Power & Light District. Finally a reason to go downtown.
3. That the Mayor of Kansas City had the backbone to stand up to the La Raza Race Baiters.
4. Dayton Moore is the GM of the Royals.
5. The Chiefs will have an early pick in next years draft.
6. Channel 9 news switched to HD.
7. That every year we put up the Mayors "Christmas" tree, sticking it in the face of all the PC bastards around this town.
8. That thanks to the service of those brave enough to serve that you can eat your turkey, watch football and travel by air in peace.
9. For KCK/KCMO for giving the criminals of the metro a suitable workplace for them to perform their job. They created such a nice work environment that our criminals reached #18 & #25 as most dangerous cities in the United States.
10. For the University of Kansas for providing the Metro with teams that are competitive.

Saturday Morning Cartoons
Things have certainly changed on Saturday mornings from when I was a kid. Growing up nothing could beat Saturday morning cartoons a bowl of cereal and a 19 inch TV. I think about this every time my daughter asks me to turn cartoons on and it is a weekday night or to put a DVD in with her favorite Disney movie. It also amuses me that she thinks our 32 inch TV is the small TV and begs to watch her shows on the "Movie Theater" TV. Anyways it just seems that Saturday Mornings cartoons have lost there luster but I can't help but remember these classics.
