UPDATE: BRITISH FORECASTERS BIGGER ALARMIST THAN HORNER?

Yesterday the English Channel was suppose to be wiped out if you listened to the forecasters in England. Guess what, it is still there. This is a page straight out of the Katie Horner PR book. Can you imagine if she was there? She would of been giving life jacket instructions and advising everyone to build an arc.

DUMB ASS KIDS AND THEIR PARENTS

My neighborhood is full of idiot parents. There isn't a day that goes by that my wife and I don't see a little kid walking the mean streets of Lenexa alone. Alone in a neighborhood that is 3 blocks away from the Target store that Kelsey Smith was kidnapped, raped and later murdered. I am not talking about teenagers or 11/12 year olds, these kids are between the ages of 4-8.

Last night on my way home from work I almost ran over one of these kids as did the guy coming down the street 30 seconds behind me. The kids were playing a game IN THE DARK where they would jump out into the street from behind a bush as a car came down the road and then jump back behind the bush. So I pulled into my garage told my wife what happened and that I was going to go up and talk to the kids parents. The kids wouldn't tell me which house there parents could be found so I told them I would call the police if they did that again.

As I was walking back home I looked behind me and thought that if one of those girls died tonight and I didn't do anything about it that it would be my fault (since their parents obviously didn't give a crap about them) so I called the cops. They looked for the kids with no luck but hopefully the site of the police car shining its spotlight through out the neighborhood was enough to scare them into stopping.

Note to parents: If you don't give a crap about where your kids are or what they are doing the it is YOUR FAULT if something happens to them.

10 BEST PLACES TO EAT IN KANSAS CITY - DINNER

These are my battle tested full proof places to grab a nice meal in the Metro area for dinner.

If you need reservations try Open Table KC

1. The Melting Pot - Great atmosphere and good food. If you have a couple of hours to kill for dinner this is the place to go.

2. Abuelos - Some of the best mexican food in town and it isn't located in the crappy SW Blvd area. This little gem is up in North Kansas City at Zona Rosa.

3. Pierponts - Excellent food and great atmosphere. Located at Union Station.

4. McCormick & Schmick's - Best seafood in town and great location on the Plaza

5. Wil Jenny's- This place is the best family restaurant in JOCO hands down.  Awesome food, great atmosphere and great kids meals. 

6. J. Gilberts - Awesome Steaks in Overland Park and one of the best in the metro

7. Golden OX - Across from Kemper this gem is a throwback to the boom days of the West Bottoms. Great food, atmosphere and service.

8. Yard House - Best casual place to eat on this list

9. Jaspers - In my opinion the Best Italian place in KC. Located at 103rd and State line.

10.  Piropos - Argentinean food up north that is well worth the drive.
