Kansas lawmakers give death sentence to drivers.

Once again the state of Kansas has embarrassed itself with it's backwards ass thinking and ways.  Our state is run by a bunch of out of touch hillbillies that have just now made DRUNK DRIVING less of an issue than a freaking taxi license.  What a complete joke.

If this state continues to take its direction from the backward left we will be left behind with nothing more than tax reductions to lure in corporations.  How long will it be until the attractiveness of reduced taxes wares off and the stink of backward ass thinking runs people out?  

I hope those of you that voted to override this veto can deal with the fact that you once again made our state look like fools and that you put peoples lives in danger with the influx of drunk drivers.  

The Right has it Wrong on Freddie

It is unwise to automatically side with the people that you normally do side with regardless of the situation.  Let's take example the recent events in Baltimore.

Unfortunately the right wing media has seemed to side with the police and are trying to rationalize the death of umm ummm, yeah that's right you don't evenremember the guys name.  Don't worry the national media doesn't mention his name in a single headline of their websites at of 1022pm (screenshots in this post).  His name was Freddie Gray for those of you that are just tuning in.  According to news sources that I usually side with Freddie Gray's past makes his murder justified.

They released his arrest records (none of his convictions were for violence), released his medical history (so much for HIPPA) and they blame his running for the police.  Even if all of the above are accurate does make his murder justified?  Hell no.

This man should not of even been approached unless there was probable cause right?  I mean how many times have you been approached by the cops at 830am.....

NOTE:  This doesn't excuse the looting, burning etc.. anyone that did that deserves whatever comes their way.

Motions to Concur or NonConcur
To convene a conference committee, the House must vote to concur or nonconcur on the Senate’s

changes. A motion to concur sends a bill straight to the governor’s desk for consideration. A motion to nonconcur and appoint a conference committee sends a bill to conference for discussion.

Uber employs ordinary people to provide transportation services similar to taxis, but more efficient and affordable. Many legislatures are dealing with this entrepreneurial effort due to liability and safety issues. H Sub SB 117 requires Uber (and Lyft) drivers to carry $1,000,000 in insurance coverage and pass a background check. When background checks are required by statute, they must be conducted by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, at a cost of $42 each.

Uber sent an alert to its Kansas subscribers to oppose these requirements and so many emails were sent to legislators that it crashed the state system and it took a day or two to get back to normal. I received thousands of emails on this subject, let alone the emails I receive on other issues in a given day. I was happy to hear from everyone – after all, the most important part of my job is to listen to and communicate with my constituents.

The bill passed the House 107-16 and the Senate 35-2 and is on its way to the governor’s desk. We want our state to be attractive to small business and we spend a lot of time and energy encouraging entrepreneurship. However, this bill is a perfect example of how legislatures are not flexible to the fast-changing needs of an entrepreneurial economy. I voted NO.

It is good to see that at least one of our representatives is on our side.

1.  The Kansas Legislature is almost as progressive as the Kansas Governor.  I seriously doubt that

a single one of these elitist wanna bes have ever used Uber, have the app or even own a smart phone.  Have you seen the legislature?  These idiots are still using flip phones and pushing the turbo boost button on their Packard Bell 486. It is no wonder that our state has to offer all of these extreme tax incentives to come here.

2.  Royals add a craft beer bar because beers at The K aren't all ready expensive enough.

3.  Will you be one of the douche bags that pays more than 50 cents for Ramen.  I am sure that the KCMO hipster crowd will flock to it by the drove the same way that they have flocked to every other come and go joint in the city.

4.  Candidates discuss ways to change the perception of North East KCMO.   Sadly most of these ideas will never take place and one of the most historic areas of the metro will continue to be the toilet bowl of the metro.

Ever since my wreck in August I have been tried unsuccessfully a few times to return to blogging but my head injury hasn't cooperated.  So, I have decided that this is as good as I am going to get and I might as well just deal with it and continue on because let's face it, you missed me, and it is election time.  

I doubt that I have any readers left but if you do find me again let me know so that I can see who is left out there.
