Think about it she is saying that by TESTING and offering parents CHOICES that we are ruining the Great (except for test scores, graduation rates etc..) American School System.  If you agree with this woman then you are a prime example of why we need more testing and choices in the school system.

It has been almost a week now since complaints starting being filed against the semi PARKED in the backyard of a South OP residence (in clear site) and not a damn thing has happened.

Residents of Overland Park should take note of this so the next time they get a ticket for parking their boat in their driveway overnight or for having their bumper 3 inches over the sidewalk.  Code enforcement doesn't exist in Overland Park unless you live in one of the gated communities.

You will all love this.  According to the Overland Park Police Department is is OK to park a Semi in your backyard.  "It is their personal property, if you can find an ordinance on our website then we might be able to do something" WTF!!!!!!

The freaking law says that vehicles have to be parked in a carport or driveway AND you can't even have a non passenger vehicle parked in front of your house.  

THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN PARKED IN THE BACKYARD OF THEIR SOUTH OP FOR 3 DAYS.

Homeowners in the area have called the city and the police department on several other issues and nothing has been done.  

This house is dropping the resale values of all the houses in the 2 surrounding subdivisions, preventing houses from being sold and is a safety hazard for kids that play in the neighborhood.  

The semi is just the latest in a long line of violations that this house has had including a garage that looks like something out of hoarders, a chicken coup in the backyard, unlicensed vehicles in the driveway and SIDE FREAKING YARD and much much more.

Does Rick Collins have time for the city or is he too busy to do the job he was elected to do?

• Facebook sucks when it's election season.  I have blocked and removed more people from my timeline because of their spam like posts than I have blocked FB game notifications.  I don't mind it when there is a debate on but other than that LEAVE ME ALONE
• Road work is done to make roads safer right?  Have you ever wondered how many wrecks are caused while they are making the roads "safer"? 
• Why is torturing someone to save the lives of Americans called "extreme" torture YET killing a baby that you didn't want called "emergency" contraception?
• How is buying a 32 oz soda deadly but buying two 16 ozs ok?
• The two most deadly non intoxicated drivers in the metro are Old People and people that drive too slow on the highway (especially when they stay in the passing lane)
• Are Ugly people the only ones allowed to moderate a debate?  
• Does anyone listen to 980 between 9-11am anymore?  I never have anyone come up to me and ask if I heard something mentioned on that show.
• While we are on the subject of local media, does anyone subscribe to the KC Star?  We were called nearly 20 times in one week to subscribe again and that just screams desperation.  Maybe if it were still a local paper but never as a conglomo leftist piece of litter box lining.
• Glenn Beck just advertised a pair of jeans that cost $119 because they are made in America. Who the hell is going to buy those?

North Johnson County Shines

Shawnee Mission West has been an embarrassment to most of us living in this city for over 20 years now so this isn't exactly shocking (SM North is another craphole) news.  The media on the other hand are having a hard time grasping the fact that something like this could happen in Overland Park.

The 3 things that one should notice about this specific story
1.  How did a knife get inside the school
2.  The 14 year old boy was autistic
3.  The use of a tazer gun just killed someone yesterday.

More importantly 
The city has spent so much time developing Blue Valley and annexing even more properties south that they have neglected to maintain the property values of anything north of 103rd street.  This seems to be the norm in this town and all that you have to do is look at Raytown, Bannister, Shawnee, Lenexa, Gladstone etc.. to see examples of this and anyone that thinks that Overland Park is immune to this is wrong.  The shrinking attendance and demotion of Shawnee Mission South from 6a to 5a is an indicator that nobody can refute.

Sprawl kills all and the annexation policies of the city and county are going to be the downfall of our county.  Until this city decides to build up and and not out we will be screwed and if you don't act now your hood will be next.
