KANSAS HONORS BLACK HISTORY MONTH

by not going to the Black History Museum or so the Kansas City Star would like you to believe.

There are so many things wrong with this "story" I do not know where to begin. First off, this isn't a racial issue this is a fiscal issue. The Kansas City Star would like to make it one but we needn't look any further than our own Union Station to see poor spending on "museums".

1. The city of Wichita already gave the Museum(link to the museum site, which is the worst site I have ever seen) $1.5 Million dollars to purchase land. I am fine with that if there was support for the museum and it would be well attended.
2. The city coughs up 200k annually for the joint yet the people that run it can't balance a budget. They went over by 90k. Museum welfare.
3. The director says in the article that the museum has no mission. Then why does it exist? The article even claims that it was simply a ploy to keep a historic building from being tore down.
4. They have raised 12k when they need to raise 12 million. Then purge it with another museum. In business this happens all the time (see telco companies). Obviously the only people in the city that care that the museum exists are the people that work there.
5. The article states that the museum lost out on a display to the museum at Wichita State which leads me to believe that black history is being displayed (just not there).

I am all in favor of putting up museums if they are going to be well attended (public wants), but lets be honest if this was a thimble museum that was going out of business would it be news? If an Irish History museum had to bet a city for money I would be for closing it down as well.

I have never understood why there has to be a different museum for each and every different culture, event, etc... Why not ONE museum with different sections and displays? Wouldn't this be the more efficient way to gather funds and expose people to different cultures, times, places and events? If we have learned anything from Wal Mart it is that people like to go to one place to get everything. People don't want to stop at 15 freaking buildings (and shouldn't) to be educated on historical events, times & cultures.

This article was simply a dig to try and create controversy by the Kansas City Red Star.

THE USDA BRINGS ITS "A" GAME

Would it not make for sense to issue the warning before the meat is consumed by everyone? I mean seriously, why issue a warning now? That is like sounding the Tornado Sirens 3 days after a tornado destroys a town.

This type of thinking is what you will get if the gov takes over health care.

QUICK HITS

1. Bill Clinton hates Obama supporters more than monogamy.

2. Clinton Inc. doesn't feel that votes for Obama should count. Disenfranchising the black vote is just another example of Grand Wizard Bubba and his "wife" showing what they and all liberals truly think about minorities.

3. Black people love George Bush. I have been saying this for years.

4. How do people come up with stories for children? A homo penguin couple? Give me a freaking break.

5. KCMO reclaims crime headlines with another drug related murder. I guess midnight basketball got started a few days to late.

6. The mother of the Porter Children can't catch a break. There is a special place in hell for this guy.

7. How long before MU starts laying off faculty and the student union gets poor customer service ratings? If ever there was a perfect match, this is it.

8. How do you like this headline? KCK community college to host tour of the "rich & famous". The best jokes just write themselves.

NASCAR IS BACK

With 4 inches of snow on the ground it is hard to believe that NASCAR is back. Lots of interesting story lines going into this season including Dale Jr. changing teams and Tony Stewart driving a umm Toyota (not a fan of that move).

Follow the race online with the NASCAR Track Pass. This is the only way to watch racing if you are not at the race.

SPORTS HITS

1. When K State plays MU it is hard for KU fans to decide who to cheer for. Yesterday you saw the epic match up of a bunch of "one and done" players vs. the latest edition of MU street thugs. K State stomped on them at home (which is the only place they seem to be able to win) but which program is set up better long term? It has to be MU. K State will not matter after Beasley & Walker depart.

2. Jeffery Flanagan once again writes the obvious. This guy is nothing more than a crappy blogger with a press pass.

3. Us Patriots fans looking to rewrite history should start vacationing in Nicaragua. There has to be a Nicaraguan with an E Bay account willing to sell one of those shirts.

4. The GM of the Yankees is complaining about having a blank check to piece together his team. Dayton Moore needs to kick this guys ass.

5. The guy that topped the Thiesman injury has been released from the hospital. Lucky for him that chicks dig scars.

6. Jason Whitlock writes an excellent piece about the NBA All Star weekend. I am a huge NBA fan but can not watch a game until after All Star weekend. The regular season is far too long.

KING CARL STRIKES AGAIN

You can't take your eye off of this guy for one minute. He will misdirect you with sad apologies with one press conference and then bend you over with a letter. The 4-12 Chiefs sent out letters to their season ticket holders (The only people that Carl thinks are real fans) telling them that their season tickets will now equal that of a a small car loan.

This franchise has now become a bigger joke than the Royals.

NOT SO QUICK HITS

1. Once again proving that this blog is read by more criminals than any other blog in the metro, these guys are back on track. Like I said earlier nobody gives a crap if you rob a gas station, just stay away from Quick Trips.

2. "But Mom all the kids are taking them to school now, the other kids will pick on me". The kids in the metro lack originality and most importantly common sense.

3. If you are going to rob a storage place would you target KCK? Seriously, what the hell are you going to get out of a KCK storage facility? That is like shoplifting at the Dollar Store.

4. Phil Kline has a list of the sluttiest women in Kansas. It is no wonder that so many people want that list. From Dogma Jay: We figure an abortion clinic is a good place to meet loose women. Why else would they be there unless they like to ____?
5. Is Lawrence, Ks going for most violent town in Kansas? KU most have a lot of out of state students from Missouri this year.

6. Put down the guns and pick up a umm basketball? Night Hoops is the biggest joke in the world. This program has been going on for over 15 years and in that time Crime has risen in this city. Plus everyone knows that the only time to see good hoops in this city is at Swope Park on Saturdays.

THE GREATEST WRESTLER OF ALL TIME

I haven't watched wrestling in over a decade but this guy was the funniest dude I can remember. The toothpick & the "Hey YO" crack my ass up.

WHY DOES JANE FONDA CONTINUE TO SPEAK

WE HAVE OUR OWN REAL LIFE SEASON OF 24

Those of you that watch 24 will get where I am going with this. In every season of 24 there are two groups of people that Jack Bauer must fight off, terrorists & liberals. The terrorist are obvious threats and easy to identify. The liberals are the one that sit in their plush offices isolated from what is going on outside that prevent Jack from doing his job effectively. Through out the season you find it hard to distinguish the difference between the two and often times wonder if they are working together or which is more of a threat to America.

Well the liberal that wants to put America at risk in "this seasons" show is Nancy Pelosi. She doesn't want the government to be able to gather intel that might save American lives. Her allies, the trial attorneys, guess what, we don't have Jack Bauer and this isn't a TV show.

QUICK HITS

1. If you are here illegally don't try to vote in the state of Kansas. This is the first decent thing to come out of Topeka in awhile and should pass with little or no problem. Like I said in a previous post, you can have as many "sanctuary cities" that you want but the governments at that State level will force you to obey the law of the land. Too bad race baiters.

2. IRS workers in this town are paranoid.

3. Raytown rejoins the police blotter.

4. The state of Kansas Gives Global Warming the finger. This is great news.

5. It is one thing to rob a Phillips 66, Circle K or a Shell but the minute you start robbing Quick Trips you are certain to piss everyone off. This guy has no chance.

6. Jeffery Flanagan continues to underwhelm metro readers. This time he chooses to write ghost stories in the Sports Section.

7. Special interest groups (including "religious leaders") must be pissing themselves with the budget news coming out of City Hall. Cutbacks are going to bad news for those that have tried blackmailing the Mayor with their recall petitions and personal attacks.

OVERLAND PARK LAND GRAB NEEDS TO STOP

The arrogance of Overland Park has gone too far. City leaders can't understand why people don't want to become part of their city and don't care to listen. Stillwell to them is a piece of crap community in need of the mighty Overland Park. The last time I checked people are moving OUT OF OP AND INTO STILLWELL. People in JOCO are sick of living in the land O Stirp Mall and are looking for a quieter less suburb environment to live in.

OP needs to fix the blight and abandonment taking place North of 87th street before they look for greener pastures to destroy.

BONDS TESTED POSITIVE FOR ROIDS

Holy crap! The smoking gun has finally appeared. In 2001 Barry Bonds tested for roids, the same year that he hit 73 home runs. If this did in fact take place why the hell didn't Bud "Teflon" Selig inform the public?

This is not only a problem for Bonds but Selig is now going to be facing purgery charges, not to mention the owners of MLB teams.

Like I said THIS IS BIG!
