AMC 20 Disgusting in Overland Park

So my wife, 2 daughters and my sister all went to see Madagascar at the movies this afternoon at AMC 20.  They just told me that the theater they were in had mice all over the place and totally ruined there experience. I have never heard of mice in a freaking theater and can only imagine how disgusting this means that the rest of the building is.  

Kinda makes you think twice about "Forks and Screens".....

ACT RIGHT OLATHE OR GET OUT

The city of Olathe is one drive by shooting away from losing its place in the JOCO country club.  What that city has turned into over the past decade is embarrassing and unworthy of the JO on the back of their cars.  It's not so much that all these drug dealers were busted no no it goes beyond that.  It is all about their business model or lack there of.  

Johnson County businessmen know better than to pollute the org chart with a bunch of middle men and pawns.  A simpler corporate structure and all would be good and there would be less chance of ruining their operation.  Due to their inability to organize and run efficiently the whole city will be sadder for the next few weeks.  Gloomy potheads are not fun and will probably turn to booze and then start driving drunk.  Good job.

I can't believe how blatant Yael Alphabet was about stealing from me.  Pretty ballsy is you ask me.

Segregated Fountains again in KC?

This whole Crown Center fountain thing has seemed foul since the beginning and after doing a little research and talking to some folks in the media and bloggers I am pretty sure that I am right.  I wont go to far into the story because Tony has nailed this thing but I do have a few questions to ask.

1.  How is the water suddenly dirty this year?  I find it hard to believe that with the purification that takes place in our water now compared to a decade ago that we NOW have to worry.

2.  Isn't it weird that this didn't happen until people started complaining about how crowded Crown Center is now?  And why is a crowded entertainment/retail district a BAD THING?  Isn't that what you want?


Personally, I think that a private business can do whatever they want with their property so closing off the fountains isn't controversial to me at all.  The explanations as to WHY on the other hand are extremely suspicious.  If they would of just come out and said that crowds were to big or something, then this wouldn't be an issue

REPOST - MISSION GATEWAY JOKE

There are so many things wrong with this story that it is hard to find a starting place.  We are all being duped here by city, county and state officials for their inability to qualify a developer and their inability to sell the blighted field. 


1.  STAR Bonds were issued by Kansas in 2008 for this project as it was proposed to them.  STAR bonds are only issued for "regional attractions" with tourist attractions.  In 2008 this was passed with the thought of an aquarium being put in but with the aquarium going into Crown Center do we really expect someone to put one in Mission?  If the aquarium doesn't get built then the STAR Bonds should be canceled. 


2.  This is Wal-Mart that we are talking about here.  Does Wal Mart really need economic incentives to open a store in JOCO?  It's not like they are going out on a limb and opening a store on Prospect.


3.  How long will it take for these bonds to be paid back (if ever)?  This economy isn't exactly set up to support 150,000 feet of retail and and 150,000 square feet of office space.  Does the state need to pay for the massive screw up that Mission made?


4.  Isn't there a Wal Mart around the corner from this place now?  We are really going to pay for them to move down the street?  Did we finance the opening of their last store?
