Mission Gateway Joke

There are so many things wrong with this story that it is hard to find a starting place.  We are all being duped here by city, county and state officials for their inability to qualify a developer and their inability to sell the blighted field.

1.  STAR Bonds were issued by Kansas in 2008 for this project as it was proposed to them.  STAR bonds are only issued for "regional attractions" with tourist attractions.  In 2008 this was passed with the thought of an aquarium being put in but with the aquarium going into Crown Center do we really expect someone to put one in Mission?  If the aquarium doesn't get built then the STAR Bonds should be canceled.

2.  This is Wal-Mart that we are talking about here.  Does Wal Mart really need economic incentives to open a store in JOCO?  It's not like they are going out on a limb and opening a store on Prospect.

3.  How long will it take for these bonds to be paid back (if ever)?  This economy isn't exactly set up to support 150,000 feet of retail and and 150,000 square feet of office space.  Does the state need to pay for the massive screw up that Mission made?

4.  Isn't there a Wal Mart around the corner from this place now?  We are really going to pay for them to move down the street?  Did we finance the opening of their last store?

The Wire - Modern Warfare 4 - East Side Edition

If this keeps up 980 will have to switch from Coats for kids to Caskets for kids this holiday season.

1.  East side residents get biblical on Sunday and start murdering by 2's.   Midtown 2 shot
2.  Another Daily double in East KCMO on Saturday
3.  Shawnee mom leaves 2 kids under 6 at home so she could clean toilets.
4.  You have to appreciate the work ethic that our murderers have.  Most people would just go home after killing one person but ours stay out and shoot 2 more and then torch one in a fire.  Dedication to ones craft should be admired.
5.  93 year old man gets his ass killed for being horny for a meth town whore.
6.  KCK Shooting Victim is keeping it real by not snitching.

Notre Dame getting a new Coach?

Will Notre Dame go after Penn State coach Joe Paterno at the end of this season when steps down?  While Penn State might not approve of the behavior of his coaching staff the Catholic church has for centuries approved of the type of ball play that his assistant coaches enjoy.

JOCO WINS AGAIN

The taxpayers of KCMO have once again taken money out of their pockets for the benefit of JOCO residents.  Soccer Moms and little kids from JOCO will now be able to see more animals at the zoo as they drive by blight, poor infrastructure, police tape and uneducated kids that tax dollars could of gone to instead.

Property Value in Kansas

The property value in Kansas and the rest of the Big 12 just improved.  That's right, we have finally rid ourselves of the dirty inbreed heathens from Missouri.  Our Hillbilly neighbors are moving to the SEC where they will be more out of place than Jethro at a spelling bee.

You know your neighborhood sucks when

You know your neighborhood sucks when an Aldi opening (with gov assistance) is front page news.

The amount of press coverage this is getting unbelievable and only makes the area look worst (if that is even possible) than it is.  We are talking about 13 jobs and bags of Frito's for $1 not state of the art medical research facilities or even a Jack n The Box.  Is KCMO hoping that Aldi will spur growth in that area or just prevent East Side residents from entering their upscale neighborhoods to purchase food?

Here are 5 more Questions or Issues that I see with this announcement.

1.  At Aldi's you use cardboard boxes instead of bags to carry your food out.  This means that residents would have to decide which wing of their house would be torn down to carry out groceries.
2.  You have to pay money to get a shopping cart.  Will Aldi implement a WIC for Cart program?
3.  Who the hell are they going to find to work there?  This store will be a target for robbery on a daily basis.
4.  Do they plan on changing the store name every time criminal activity takes place there to keep pace with the name changing of the street that they are on?  This places name and address might change 5 times a year.
5.  Will they sell boxed wine?
