THE WIRE

I guess "stop shooting people" wasn't exactly a popular new years resolution in KCMO.

1. Drive-by from Honda hits dude in his hand.
..Is that really a crime for KCMO? How many times have we read about people with half of their guts missing driving themselves to the doctors office for help? I'm surprised that this one was even called in.

2. Gun Point robberies hit Olathe. Unlike the story above this (in scale) is a more serious crime. We can not allow this type of thing to continue in our county (even if it is Olathe).

3. I guess the story here is that someone in KCK actually reported a crime. Dunno, kudos to them for knowing to dial 911 I guess.

DID I MENTION EARLIER THAT A WOMAN GOT STABBED BY A CRACK PIPE? BEST STORY EVER.

OLATHE AND RELIGION

BEFORE you psycho's read this post let me clarify that I am proreligion. I am not writing a post asking people to stop praying.

Today I learned that you could look up blogs on blogger by location. I went through a page in OP, Leawood, Lenexa and last but not least Olathe.

The subject matter of the Olathe blogs all seemed to be about praying, forgiveness, jesus fish and name that bible verse. So let me ask my fellow JOCOIANS or more importantly the fine people of Olathe what exactly is in the water out there? Are there other intrests out there besides worship? Are you the people that watch those 10 religious channels on my cable box?

And isn't there a book allready covering this topic called the bible? Do bloggers actually think they can do a better job of presenting the material in the bible than well the bible? I'm just curious.

THE WIRE - WEEKEND KETCHUP

As Jocoians we need to be thankful that we don't live in these hell holes. While we were busy eating turkey and hanging up Christmas lights the rest of the Metro was busy going East Side.

1. Have you ever read a story in which the street Van Brunt was involved in Crime? Shooting at 7th and crap.
2. This is the second time that this store has made THE WIRE. Hispanic on Hispanic crime is rampant in Olathe.
3. KCK Police Standoff sparks the beginning of the Holiday Season.

4. My mother use to tell me that nothing good happens after midnight....In KCMO the same can be said for 5:30. This poor bastard was gunned down at 2am. Season Greetings.
5. STL carjackers give themselves the death penalty.

6. Barbershop 3. Burn them bitches down.

THE WIRE

Let's see what crimes were committed the past two days in the name of the "poor economy".

1. You know this guy will be the most feared guy in prison. "What are you in for?"; "Stealing clothes from women"; "No crap?"; "Eassssssst side BEYOTCH!"

2. Raytowna Beach suffers robberies from it's upscale shopping areas.............

3. Hispanic on Hispanic crime is on the rise in Olathe. I dream of a day in which Olathe is annexed by WYCO and we can rid ourselves of their crime stats.

4. Once they started taking our tax dollars the banks of the United States became fair game. If you pay taxes, robbing a bank has suddenly become a different way to withdraw your money.

5. KCMO cops have no aim. No wonder murderers aren't afraid of them.

6. This guys Eagle Scout project was off the hook.

THE WIRE

If George Jefferson lived in Kansas City do you think he would want to move on up to the East Side? Hell no. Here is your 3 day catch up.

1. KCMO Killers show no class by driving a Taurus to commit murders. Put that drug money to use and get yourself a Lexus.

2. Something tells me that enrollment in this KCMO program is going to be higher than that of the KCMO School District. I guarantee that the people that end up with degrees in both will be the same.

3. KCMO residents decide to loot bank before Wall Street does. I admire the foresight that these gentlemen have.

4. Blue Springs HS Student charged in raping a 12 year old. Give him the chair.

5. OP 45 year old charged with fondeling a 12 year old. Give him the chair.

6. Drive up restraunts in KCMO mean Drive Up robberies. If you own a business in KCMO the more security the better.

7. Is there a reason that Olathe is in JOCO?

8. Did LJ move to Lawrence?

9. KCMO has more murders than bottles of beeer on the wall. A city full of "culture" claims numbers 105 & 106 last night.

10. Future serial killers caught in burgulary.

Stay tuned for tomorrows End of the Year Murder prediction.

3. Bullying prevention program??...........The wussification continues.

4. Finally, a neighborhood in the east side that is doing more than marching against crime.

6. Precious Doe trial is set to start. This guy should have his head cut off with hedge trimmers.

THE WIRE

I had thought about stopping this segment of the blog due to the parade on prospect. I thought for sure that crime was going to stop but shockingly it hasn't.

1. 3 guns, 3 men, 2 alive, 1 dead on Spruce. (pssst...that is the East side, now look away)

2. Officer injured when man in KCMO tried to run after a traffic stop.

3. The fact that this guy isn't getting the death penalty still pisses me off. If not him then WHO?

4. Thanks to the residents of KCK, violent crime is up in Kansas. Good job fellas, keep up the good work.

5. While MS-13 gang graffiti goes up all over West Olathe they feel its more important to tackle the serious problem of parking. Did you know that the Olathe PD has a gang unit? I told you last year that latino gangs were moving into the area, yet nobody believed me.

6. Why does violence to small animals always occur in KCK? Poor kitty.

7. Teenage girl gets gun pulled on her in KCK. Way to represent da hood.

THE WIRE

With the rain, wind and cool temperatures you knew that last night would be nearly silent in the Metro.

1. Despite the elements the North East was able to come through for the rest of the metro with a shooting at 1:30am. I know, weird that someone got shot in that neighborhood at that time of night....

2. Abandoned KCK duplex burns. Arson anyone?

3. Thieves have no limits. Obviously these copper thieves enter our county from KCK or KCMO.

4. Only in KCMO will you find a thief that would steal newports and whiskey to cover court costs.

Todays over/under on shootings will stay at 2

IS OLATHE MAKING A MOVE?

With the recent outbreak in violent crime in Olathe I may have to put up a new power rankings(will be out tomorrow). It is good to see that the people of Olathe have evolved into gun play. In a few years Olathe will be the new KCK, count on it.

THINGS THAT COULD ONLY HAPPEN IN OLATHE?

How long before a deaf person gets shot by a hispanic gang member that confuses sign language for gang signs? The lack of such an incident to this date amazes me considering that these two groups make up the majority of the population in the city.

I am going to go out on a limb and predict that in 2008 there will be such an incident.

OLATHE DOES ITS BEST KCK IMPRESSION

This hasn't been a good day on the blog for the county seat. Tonight all over the news there have been reports of a woman robbing a Target (everything bad happens at Target) with a BOX OF CHOCOLATE. Not only did the brave people of Olathe get duped by candy but the police evacuated the store and set up a a wide perimeter around the store.

First of all, WHO GETS ROBBED BY CANDY! I understand that some Target Cashiers aren't that bright but come on, nobody is this stupid. Secondly, nice over reaction by authorities.

PEOPLE OF OLATHE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IT IS JUST A GROCERY STORE! Why does the closing of a grocery store require the newspaper to cover it? "Empty Shelves, Empty Hearts" are you kidding me? The best part of this story is that the employees and customers formed a human chain and that the loss of the store was "tragic".

Anyone that has driven through Olathe recently knows that the city faces bigger problems than a grocery store closing. I am not talking about the new shiny part of Olathe, I am talking West Olathe. While Olathe has done an excellent job expanding to the 119th street area the city planner must close his eyes when he drives to & from work because the area from the courthouse East to the highway is in need of help.

It is good to see that the people upset about the closing of the Dillons have their eye on the ball.
