The Wire - Over/Under Update

Early this year I made my yearly Vegas betting line on the over/under in KCMO murders this year.  At first I was surprised at how many of you took the over 3 weeks in, you might be right.  

1.  If a house in East KCMO burns down, does the property value increase or decrease?

2.  MLK's dream doesn't mean much to East KCMO residents.  3 MURDERED

3.  Breaking into a home in the most armed 2 mile area on the continent is not a good idea.  NorthEast Robber Shot.

Friday the 13th Kicked KCK's ass

KCK is a terrible place to live on most days BUT this Friday the 13th has elevated the shittyness of JOCO's neighbors to the North.  

1.  2 shot in KCK's beautiful east side.  
2.  Kids aren't even safe bathing in east KCK
3.  This guy was doing great in his police chase UNTIL he entered KCK.

Overland Park WTF!

Despite the number of players that we lost to death and incarceration last year, I believe that the team will step up and still deliver.  The KC roster is still full of battle proven veterans that have been trained by the best in the business since birth.  When you combine that with the fact that the other team has a new head coach and a new defensive coordinator that likes to blitz instead of playing the traditional East of Troost Zone defense you can expect excitement.

As always, I enjoyed you on the latest "Ruckus"!! A few thoughts on our new Chief of Police and the KCMO crime situation.  Police officers in modern America are required on a daily basis to do a most politically incorrect thing--use violence against racial minorities. And, as any cop can tell you, there is no such thing as a nice takedown--they all look terrible on TV. Given that ugly reality, if cops are to have the morale and motivation to fight black-on-black crime they have to be given firm assurances that if accused of racist misconduct they will get due process. When that is not the case, out of sheer self-survival the cops abandon their duties in  minority neighborhoods and crime in these neighborhoods explodes--witness NYC after the Tawana Brawley case in 1987-1993, Prince George's County, Maryland since the Stephanie Mohr case in 2001, Cincinnati in the three years following the race riots in the spring of 2001, and Oakland today in the aftermath of the riots in Nov. 2010.

In the case of KCMO's black neighborhoods crime exploded after the Police Board meetings in Jan. 2008 and April 2008 on the Salva tragedy--Board members Karl Zobrist, Mark Thompson and Terry Brady spent those entire hearings falling all over themselves to pander to the city's community leaders out of terror of a convention boycott; the cops got the message and out of self-survival abandoned serious efforts to fight crime in the black neighborhoods of kcmo.  And, remember, for the cop on the beat it is not just the threat of dismissal that they have to worry about--there is also the danger of being brought up on federal civil rights charges.

Slow week in KC so far.  Just a few shootings a stabbing and some hood fires. 

1.  East side man doesn't listen to cops and keeps shooting.  That almost never happens....

2.  Highland seems like a fitting street name for the East Side.  Oh, this guy got shot in a gun battle between 2 cars.  Awesome!

3.  What kind of dumb ass robs a freaking Wendy's?  Talk about underachieving

The Wire - Approach To Danger

This weekend was one of the most productive in the history of the East Side.  For now on 2-4 murders in a few day span will be considered peaceful and lackluster which makes you wonder if the competitive spirit in the East Side will rise to the occasion and go for double digits.  What's to stop them?  The mayor that can't control his own pimp slapping son?  The Chief of police that we don't have?  The citizens that live in the war zone that no longer resembles a city and is closer to South Lebanon?  The "community activist" that have failed their community for the past decade?

Nope, the only way this will stop is when the ammo runs dry.

1.  If only the Royals could turn a triple play like our gangsters in KCMO.  3 killed and yes, 3 killed.
2.  Suicidal Teen on "Smart" avenue keeps cops away from their job.
3.  Masturbating man asks 10 year old for directions in Lenexa.  Joco continues its perv streak.
4.  Normally shooting someone in the head would be a big story but  not when people are killing in 3's.

6.  Olathe murderer gets tracked down through his cell phone. Joco just doesn't have the quality of murderers that the East Side has.

I say faces of death but lets be honest, we will never see the faces of those killed violently in the metro.  That is unless it happens in Joco cus we be Snitchin 

1.  They say "man dressed as woman" robbed the bank in Mission.  I say he looks more like Kat Williams than a hood rat.

Who said that murderers, pimps, whores and dealers don't have civic pride?  The news is full of KCK residents that are sick and tired of playing 2nd to the Varsity squad in KCMO.  Where there is a will there is a way and these folks stepped up when nobody else would.

1.  Shooting someone in broad daylight takes some guts.  This just proves how badly KCK wants this.  Dead.  
2.  KCK firefighter didn't think it was wrong to molest preteen girls.
3.  Robbing a KCMO bank is like asking a homeless man for a quarter.

I started putting together the weekend ketchup tonight and couldn't believe the amount of violence there was this weekend.  OK, I could believe it... Also, who decided to start building an Ark with dead bodies?  Can we get back to single murders instead of murder by two's.
