Many of you are asking yourselves what the hell does one have to do with the other? Well probably nothing when you focus on the men and what they stand for but in the world of the internet they have one similarity, false hope for supporters and detractors.

In Ron Paul's case all that we have heard is how the polls are lying, he has the support in the grass roots, look at all of the money he has raised on the internet etc.... His supporters have been the most vocal, weather it be in the blog world or 5 guys standing on a corner holding up signs and their never ending phone calls into local/national talk radio. The whole time the people that actually understood the system have said that there is NO WAY that he can get elected. How many states has this guy picked up so far? Exactly.
Now lets look at the people that want Funkhouser recalled. They flood their blogs with personal attacks of him and his wife because he stood up to their racist agenda. They try (buy are often made to look like idiots) to sway local talk radio with their calls. There are now even rumors of T-Shirts being made and a lame rally. The people behind this recall would like to think that everyone in KCMO thinks the same way and they might actually believe it. If you were surrounded by people that thought the world was flat and you thought the same well you would think that everyone thought the same.

This whole thing is nothing more/nothing less than the extremist minority groups in this town pissed that they are no longer feared and catered to by city hall. Sure they throw in a few token white folks to make it look like something more but it is what it is. Just look at the points they use to recall the vote: From the Star

They want good old Alvin to replace the man so that they can go back to the good ole days of bags of money being dropped off at their church's, Racist group Headquarters and Ollie Gates can get more land for nothing.

It should be entertaining for those of us out in the dome to sit back and watch Kansas City go through Ron Paul lite. This wasn't a surprise to anyone that tries to stay current with the news in the town but still some of us held up hope that the idiots on the School Board might actually listen to the people and avoid making yet another mistake. The funny thing about it is that they actually had Amato say that he was resigning thinking that the residents of their district would be too ignorant to read between the lines and that they could say "we didn't fire him" to the state and media.

I think it is funny that a football coach gets a longer amount of time to turn a program around with kids that he gets to pick than a Super in the KCMO School District does with kids/parents that he has no choice in.

and it needs to stop before it spirals further out of control and this city becomes a bigger joke. Let's look at some of the wonderful things going on with the metros anchor tenant (kcmo) and how this effects the area.

1. Coe, McFadden-Weaver and Katheryn Shields all criminals in one way or another. The idiots were kept in power despite shady dealings and controversy. Don't think for a minute that there aren't more of them doing the same thing as I type this.

2. The Mayor - seems completely clueless when it comes to PR. This guy runs through city hall like a freshman on his first day of high school.

3. The School District - 20 something superintendents in 20 something years. The school board is full of people that have a KCMO public school education, how intelligent can they be?

4. Police Department - Jim Corwin is a complete disaster. Anyone can cook stats to make it appear that the crime rate is going down but anyone that reads a newspaper or watches the news or hell even dodges bullets while sitting on their porch know better.

5. Economic Development - I am not talking about Arena's and more retail. When was the last time a major corporation moved its HQ to Kansas City? I get the whole "build it and they will come" theory but someone needs to be out there selling what we are building.

6. Convention Business - When the hell did our convention business depend on liberal special interest groups? La Raza, NAACP, _______ religious group etc. The city needs to steer away from conventions that will be used to blackmail the area to push their agenda.

7. Blight - When in the hell is the city going to start tearing down known drug houses, cleaning up parks and alleys? If you don't clean a cut it will get infected.

8. Unemployment amongst blacks - DID I READ THAT 40% are unemployed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GET OFF YOUR ASSES AND GET TO WORK. I don't want to hear that there are no jobs out there because the people that are employing illegals are saying that there ARE NO WORKERS!

9. The media - WHY IS THERE NOT MORE COVERAGE ON THESE ISSUES????????? It is easy to report on a murder, poor test scores, conventions leaving, unemployment etc.. How about you get off your asses and cover the REASONS WHY THIS IS HAPPENING. The people that cover sports in this city make a bigger deal out of Larry Johnson not playing than the people at the star or local TV stations do regarding real issues.

10. Light Rail - Too much time is being spent on this Disney Land ride. People in Kansas city like to drive, always have and always will. Now drop it.

11. A MEMBER OF THE PARKS BOARD QUIT AND IT IS NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I blame La Raza, The Mayor and the media for making this an issue.

• La Raza for exploiting the situation to try and gain some PR in this town. Until Semler came along who actually gave a crap about them? Well enjoy the spotlight because the heat is now going to be coming your way. Where you get your donations from, the citizenship of your members/protesters, where does the money you get go? Is it being used to break the law?.... Have fun.
• The Mayor for being a PR nightmare. There was no compromise possible yet your dumb ass continued to show up at protest meetings thus adding fuel to the fire.
• The Media for being lazy in their coverage. Are you afraid of asking minorities tough questions?

Who in their right mind is going to relocate their family or company to this city while all of this is going on? The trickle down effect that this stuff has DOES in fact effect the people living in the burbs and beyond. The problems is that nobody seems to care, because many of these problems have been around for awhile now with no REAL action taken to fix them. We would rather complain about the branding of neighborhoods, parking at the Sprint Center, what type of car the mayor drives etc.... Do you know why? Over the past few weeks as more and more people have been bookmarking this site I have been getting several requests for a BBQ top ten list that ranks them in order. So here they go, this time in order along with the most over rated/ worst BBQ in town.

1. Gates - There isn't even a close 2nd. Items to order: Short ends, fries, beans.
2. Oklahoma Joes - Best Pork & Fries in town. Items to order: Pulled pork, fries, beans, coleslaw. They also make a pretty decent chili
3. Bryants - Best meat in town - sauce is different Items to order: Burnt ends & Fries. Beans are just ok
4. LC's - Legend
5. Woodyard BBQ - Nothing is bad here and it is CHEAP
6. Jack Stack - Getting a little to fancy for a BBQ place but still the best sausage and beans in town.
7. Quicks BBQ - Legend
8. B.B.'s Lawnside - Great food, terrible location
9. Famous Dave's - It is sad that a National chain beats out many of our local places
10. ADAMS RIB - This is a new joint(2009) off of 87th street. AWESOME food.

1. Smokehouse - Terrible sauce that drowns out the flavor of the meat.
2. Big Bubbas - I went back to give these guys a 3rd chance and was completely underwhelmed. If you are in Olathe GO TO Johnny's BBQ, it is your only safe bet besides Oklahoma Joes.
3. Rosedale - The meat there is terrible but they have incredible fries
4. Smokin Joes - Another Olathe crap house but once again they have incredible fries.
5. 135th street BBQ - This might be the worst on the list.
6. Haywards - I have had deli meat that tasted more like BBQ than this place.
7. Brobecks - Getting better but not quite there. Another 6 months and the smokers will be up to the challenge.

The above mentioned 7 places are a complete waste of money when you compare them to the other choices out there.

JOCO ROAD CREWS SUCK!

How is it that we can have 90 billion road projects going on at the same time but CAN NOT REMOVE 3 INCHES OF FREAKING SNOW!

My commute to work is bad enough due to the road construction on 435 and 69 Highway (that they said wouldn't cause any slow downs), the closing of the overpass on 103rd street and the nightmare that Quivira and 435 has become. Well today there was NO SNOW REMOVAL.

435 had two lanes that had any pavement showing and the others were completely snow packed. The ramps getting onto the highways were completely covered in snow, the left two lanes from 69 highway to Roe were untreated and there were no plows in sight.

How is it that the wealthiest county in the region can not hire someone that can handle the simple task of snow removal? If we do not have enough plows, salt, sand etc... then where the hell does all of our tax money go? Isn't public safety the one thing that the government is SUPPOSE to provide?

WE ARE TALKING ABOUT 3 INCHES! What the hell would happen if we had a real winter storm.?

If you are looking to squeeze one more excused absence out of your employer for the month of January than might I suggest MLK day. Now this can be a tough one to pull off if you work for a company that doesn't automatically give this day off but I am here to help.

After extensive research (2 minutes) and careful planning (making this up as I go) I have found the perfect event for the average white guy in JOCO to use as his excuse. The MLK program takes place in (are you read) BLUE VALLEY!!!!!!!!!!! No need to drive to the hood, just drive down to 158th street in South OP and enjoy. Too good to be true? That is what I thought as well, but there is more! You can even purchase an event T-Shirt to take back to your boss or wear around your one black friend. There is also rumor of actual african americans attending this event (think photo op).

So this year when you think about Martin Luther King be sure to think Blue Valley because nothing says diversity more than South OP and enjoy your day off.

AMERICAN IDOL CLIFF NOTES

Tonight begins another long journey of American Idol. This show is basically the same every year yet we continue to watch it for some reason.

Things you can count on

1. The hot chick with a so/so voice will advance to the round of 12
2. There will be a contestant with a checkered past.
3. The auditions will be full of ass clowns making fools of themselves to get on TV.
4. Paula will walk out on Simon
5. The celeb judges will think everyone is great
6. The winner will not sell as many albums as the runner up
7. The fat african american chick will have the best voice.
9. The term "pitchy" will be used over 2,000 times.
10. Simon and Ryan will call each other out for being in the closet.
11. At least 15 of the people that audition will cry.
12. The term "fugly" will be used inside viewers homes through out the auditions.
13. There will be 10 stand out performances and the rest will be average.
14. Lounge singer, Cabaret, wedding singer etc... will all be used to describe average performances.
15. They will purposely advance another Sanjaya type.
16. A blond will make it to the final 4
17. There will be at least one guy that is considered "a rocker", one chick that is "alternative", 2 chicks will be labeled "country", etc.....
18. My DVR will not work at least 2 times this season.
19. The media will think that Simon is to mean
20. The finale will be 2 hours long and only 5 minutes will matter.

There now you don't need to watch.
