After taking a break from blogging and the news the last couple of days I decided to watch the news last night and couldn't believe all the crap that went down this weekend. FOR MONTHS I have been complaining about the mayor, media and police chiefs lack of action in regards to Kansas City crime and gang violence and little has happened. We have had the same coverage, lack of action and leadership in tackling these problems and look at what it gets us. A FREAKING BLOOD BATH in the city streets.

I would like to thank the Mayor of Kansas City for focusing his attentions on blight rail, La Raza and Mammy Gate, instead of crime.

I would like to thank the media for spending 15 minutes every night on weather, sex clubs, dress codes and Phil Kline, instead of crime.

I would like to thank the Chief of police in KCMO for nothing.

Kansas City has been hoodwinked by a snake oil salesman from Arkansas and you are all giving him a pass. I have yet to read a story or blog post mentioning David Glass's name in regards to the Wal Mart convention ditching Kansas City.

Remember folks, you voted to give this guy a quarter of a billion dollars to refurbish the stadium in which his once proud/now a joke baseball team plays and this is how he repays you. Are you kidding me, THIS GUY OWES YOU! Yet, not a mention in the media. $8 million stripped from the local economy and not a mention.. And let's not forget about all of the tax breaks that Wal-Mart has gotten to build its stores in neighborhoods that didn't want them and the small businesses that closed down shortly afterwards.

Everything that was good about Ewing Kaufman has been flipped with David Glass. Ewing Kaufman loved Kansas City, kept his business here, employed thousands(and paid well) and gave us a winning product on the field (even if he lost money). Glass destroys local small business's, provides terrible low paying jobs, fleeces the city for money and has put a joke of a product on the field. Yet, the media fails to go after him for stripping the city of its biggest convention................

I think its time that Kansas City said good bye to Wal-Mart and David Glass.

Tonight on KSHB they will be airing a special entitled "Living Green Kansas City". This has to be a joke, right? In a city with a crappy school district, mayor under investigation, gang murders, drug rings, stabbings, arson etc... this unproven religion of doom is what they focus their resources on? Wouldn't an hour long special on the above mentioned topics be more appropriate? The media in this town once again has let YOU down.

I can only hope that after watching this program that the mothers of children that can't read or are dead can create a home as energy efficient as AlGORES house.

They can thank the KC media for bringing light to the real problems facing them on a daily basis, recycling. Who cares if little Timmy can read or write or is gunned down in front of his house as long as he doesn't litter. It is more important for you to tell little Timmy to recycle because if he doesn't a polar bear thousands of miles away might have to alter HIS habits. You see Timmy in the eyes of the media and "green" people the life of a hooded cockroach is worth more than yours.

It appears that KC motorist have decided to fight back against the swarm of cyclist that are flooding the city streets like locust in a wheat field (locust are less annoying). Keep in mind while reading the story that Mike Hedricks is a self admitted "cyclist" and completely bias in his coverage of this.
"Indeed, we are seeing that. And not just the recreational cyclists in their skin-tight spandex. With gas prices soaring, there has been an uptick in the number of people walking and biking for trips to the store and work."
I Call BS on this. WHEN THE HELL HAVE YOU SEEN SOMEONE ON A BIKE ON THEIR WAY TO WORK???????? When you do see these people during rush hour they ARE in their spandex in a group of 3-4 taking up a whole lane (against the law by the way). This guy is a freaking hack.

THINGS OF NOTE

1. Fathers Day: This was the first Fathers day in 5 years that I didn't have a huge BBQ but it was still nice. My girls picked out their own gifts for me and well, umm... it was nice. I still fired up one of the smokers and made a couple slabs of ribs for me and the girls and a Pork Tenderloin for my wife. The ribs turned out great and I was happy to see my 2 little girls enjoy eating ribs for the first time. The tenderloin had good flavor but I think I left it on 30 minutes too long. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing (too much pain to do anything else) and watching the Woody Woodpecker (greatest cartoons ever) collectors DVD set that my wife got me.

2. Health: I went in for my CT Scan last week and they didn't find any tumors but I still feel like crap. I have been having more good days than bad days lately so I am hoping that the meds are finally starting to kick in, but who knows. I wanted to thank those of you that care for the phone calls and emails that you have sent my way. Even if it isn't serious it is good to know who is in my corner.

3. Death, Are you covered? I remember thinking that I was a little young to be purchasing a life insurance policy 3 years ago but I am glad I pulled then trigger when I did. There is no way in hell that I could get the same type of coverage I have if I tried to sign up today. It is good to know that if something were to happen to me that the family will be more than taken care of.

4. Thomas The Train: Saturday we took the girls to Baldwin City to see Thomas the Train. Everything was great until we rode the train. What a freaking rip off. 35 minute train ride that consisted of staring at 2 junkyards, a house that had a corvette in the drive way but had "outdoor plumbing", flooded farm fields and trash. The funniest part about the whole train ride is that you go backwards for half the time and then go forward the rest. This means that you get to see the Junkyards, trash and flooded farm fields twice. While I say it is was a ripoff it was still worth it because the kids loved it.

5. New Dog: I have decided on a pug but my wife is wanting a Golden Retriever. Can you cross breed the two?

6. Blog: After 9 months I reached the 20k hit mark. Thank you to all of you that make this part of your daily reading. Except for you stalker.....

7. Power Outage: Last Sunday the power to our house went out. This wouldn't be a big deal except for the fact that our sump pump lost power. After some brainstorming with some neighbors I ran up to Wal Mart and purchased a power converter that allows me to use my car as a power source and 100 feet of heavy duty extension cord that I ran from the drive way down to the basement. It was pretty simple to hook up and within minutes the basement was saved from certain flooding.

Anyone else sick of the flood coverage? This crap is getting over the top. Last night I watched an interview on one of the local stations of an elderly couple in which they described the floating patterns of driftwood when the water is rising...........Gripping journalism.

NAACP STRIKES AGAIN - Black animals must now suffer

This story is truly hilarious. It appears that the NAACP had nothing better to do with its time and resources than to target an animal shelter..... Yes an animal shelter. No this shelter wasn't enslaving black animals or refusing admission of black animals into it establishment. The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter was simply trying to promote the adoption of black animals. They even came up with a catchy slogan "Black is beautiful" and were planning on cutting the adoption fees of black animals due to the lack of black animals being adopted.

Well the NAACP decided that this slogan and program were tasteless due to the date that it was suppose to take place, June 19th. June 19th is the celebration of the freeing of the slaves and the NAACP decided that this was some sort of racist attack by people simply wanting to get some animals adopted.

What is hilarious about this is that black people and now animals are being screwed by Race Baiting politics and policies of the NAACP. These animals if not adopted will be killed. Way to go NAACP! I can't wait for them to say that black animals should only be adopted by black families.

Today I stumbled upon a link to a story dealing with a state wide smoking ban in Kansas and couldn't believe who wrote it. I am use to reading stories dealing with people wanting to take away your personal freedoms but they are usually from liberal wackos, not this time. It was a Republican.

I had to do a google search in order to find out who in fact David Wysong was and it turns out that he is a a REPUBLICAN State senator for Kansas(mission hills district). Does our party need people like this representing us? How does the Republican party continue to let leftist socialist enter its ranks? If Wysong wants to be a state senator, fine but let him run as a democrat or an independent.

Are kids safer in schools than at home? It seems that every summer there is an outbreak of crimes against kids and/or crappy parenting. The following stories will make parents across the metro cringe.

1. Anyone that watches the Wire KNOWS that West Baltimore makes the KCMO East Side look like Johnson County. These two kids were shot in a baby pool.

2. Pet snake makes its way into the crib of a 7 month old.

3. 4 year old shoots herself with grandmas gun at Sams Club.

4. Did this Polish baby get a ticket for navigating the birth canal 15 times (blood alch level) over the limit?

5. 13 & 11 year old girls shot several times and left in a ditch to die are found in rural Oklahoma.

6. Mothers mistake nearly drowns kids in car.

BROBECKS BBQ PART 3

I went to this place again (3rd time) in hopes of finding a higher quality of food than the previous 2 visits and all of those in my group were disappointed. They have gotten a little bit better but not nearly enough to make this place a "must eat" BBQ joint. The sausage was decent, the ham salad app was pretty good and the ribs were just average. The only thing that saves this place is the quality of service.

While they are no longer an avoid at all costs type of place they still fall short of making the top 20 list.

BEING SICK SUCKS

Here is an update for those of you keeping score at home. Last Thursday I went to my 6th Doctor and he seemed to be a little bit more on the ball than the previous ass clowns I had been to. He said that with the steroid shot and medications that he gave me that I should start feeling better by this past Sunday...............

Well that didn't work out quite as planned. I was in just as much pain yesterday as I was last Monday. So today I go in for more tests.
